MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Location:  Waterford,CT

Description:
Perform mechanical design, including thermal Finite Element Analysis, of heat pipe, thermal capacitance, and thermal dissipative tile components and associated joints for new thermal management systems for use on flight decks of naval ships.  The successful candidate will
•  Select and evaluate thermal capacitance materials such as eutectic salts, low melt temperature metals
•  Select and evaluate new thermal conductive materials consisting of innovative embodiments of carbon nanotubes and metals
•  Evaluate assembly processes for tiles including ultrasonic consolidation and thermal spray.

Qualifications:

•  Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Mechanical Engineering
•  Entry level with demonstrated relevant work history; 3+ years experience preferred
•  Demonstrated experience in Finite Element Analysis, thermal and/or structural
•  Experience in SolidWorks 3D modeling and SolidWorks Simulation
•  Must be a U.S. citizen eligible for a government security clearance.

Experience with more advanced FEA tools such as ABACUS is a plus.
